What are some of the hiring trends and challenges that are unique to your industry?

In the tech industry, particularly in software development, the demand for specialized skills like Data Science, Data Engineering and cloud computing is growing rapidly, creating intense competition for top talent. While there's plenty of technology to support hiring at scale, the real challenge is effectively engaging with candidates and building meaningful connections.

We also face a notable labor shortage, especially in niche areas, which requires proactive talent development and retention efforts. At RebelDot, we focus on strong employer branding and authentic communication to attract and retain the best professionals.

Because of this, we've shifted to a more personalized approach, focusing on building strong relationships with candidates and showcasing our company culture from the start. We also prioritize speed and transparency in our hiring process to ensure we don't miss out on top talent.

What were your hiring process and recruitment challenges prior to Teamtailor?

Before adopting Teamtailor, we tracked candidates using Excel files, which made managing the recruitment process challenging, especially with GDPR regulations coming into play in Europe. When GDPR was introduced, we had to quickly adapt to ensure compliance and protect candidate data.

Teamtailor has significantly improved our process. It allows us to manage candidate information securely, streamline our hiring workflows, and maintain transparency, all while ensuring we're compliant with GDPR. This shift has also enabled us to focus more on building relationships with candidates and speeding up the recruitment process, which is crucial in today's competitive market.

What do you think will be the future of HR?

I think the future of HR is going to be a mix of AI and remote work. AI will help with streamlining tasks and making better decisions, but we’ll still need to keep remote work on the table. What’s going to be really important is nurturing a strong company culture and focusing on employee well-being. It’s all about using technology to make things easier while also making sure people feel connected and supported, no matter where they’re working from.
